Information Collected: We collect first name, last name, email, gender, and date of birth for account creation. Financial data (budgets, goals, bills, assets, expenses, transactions) is either entered directly by you or, if you choose to connect a bank account, retrieved through Plaid.
Bank Connections (Plaid): If you connect a bank account, we use Plaid Inc. to securely link your account and retrieve balance and transaction data. Plaid's own privacy policy governs the data it collects on our behalf. We store the access credential Plaid issues for your connection (not your bank login itself) so the app can continue syncing transactions without asking you to reconnect every time. This credential is stored in an access-controlled database table that only our backend server can read, never on your device and never accessible to other users.
Purpose of Data Collection: We use this data solely to provide the app's budgeting features — tracking spending, syncing transactions, and displaying your financial picture back to you (and, if applicable, your linked partner).
Storage Location: All user data is stored in our Supabase (PostgreSQL) database.
Security Measures: We enforce Row Level Security on every table, meaning the database itself — not just the app — restricts each user's data to that user and, where you've explicitly linked a partner, your partner. Bank access credentials are further restricted to server-side access only. We offer optional two-factor authentication (TOTP) to add a second layer of protection to your account.
Data Sharing: We do not sell user data. Data is shared only with the third-party service providers necessary to operate the app: Plaid (bank connections), Supabase (database and authentication hosting), and our transactional email provider (password reset and account notifications).
Local Storage: Some data is cached on your device (e.g., recent transactions, session tokens) to make the app faster and to keep you signed in between sessions.
Data Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time by visiting this page.
Opting Out: Account data collection (name, email, DOB) is required for core app functionality and cannot be opted out of while keeping an active account. Connecting a bank account via Plaid is entirely optional.
Retention Policy: We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Once you request account deletion, all associated data — profile, financial records, and any stored bank connection credentials — is permanently removed within our systems, and any connected bank account is disconnected from Plaid.
The app is restricted to users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Updates: We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice.
